They've clearly taken the view that as they're not going to beat 7% (they probably can't as their borrowers are not paying that much) they might as well forget about people chasing the best buy tables. Expect this rate to fall further really.0

Just because other banks can offer their savers rates well above the base rate doesn't mean the Yorkshire BS can.0

a transfer made from my online YBS account on Tuesday would reach my NW Flexaccount following Friday or Monday ??
nb can't do a 'test' because it's the 1 annual withdrawal penalty free allowed from RS account0 -

i have just looked at my statement online after year 1, having saved the maximum of 500 every month for the first year, i have been paid a total of £161 interest ( including deductions for tax) does this seem right? it seems low to me but i haven't got a clue a bout this kind of thing to be honest??

Your bonus interest should be around:
£6,000 x 3.5% / 12 x 6.5 x 0.8 = £91
and your normal interest will make up the rest (the rate has fluctuated - downwards mainly!! - throughout the year).0
