Thanks for that useful info, I have 4 Fixed bonds with them maturing end of May so I hope it either holds or they launch another with a similar rate.:)

Apparently (I need to ring them tomorrow to check) you can move from existing NOTICE a/c's like the CD30 (but not any lock in bonds) without giving notice or losing interest. :D

I know someone who applied for the current one year Spring Bond (6.6%) a week ago and was told they would have to forego 40 days interest on their CD40 account if they wanted to open the bond straightaway.

Could you please post back after you have rung them?

They told me it was a new policy they started officially yesterday with the 2nd issue bond coming out Saturday! :D

    Rules

    1. Only if you are going to one of there FIXED RATES
    2. If you move from a bond that's not matured you WILL lose interest
    3. Normal withdrawals OUT of the Chelsea incur loss of interest if you don't give notice
    4. An up to date application form MUST be completed
    5. (Postal) Expect delays in opening the account, BUT interest is backdated to the day they receive your application.
    (5. If you use a transfer form DON'T tick the boxes which say "I wish to give notice/ Wish to transfer right away". The person I spoke to said it might be an idea to enclose a letter with the application form)

Hope that's helpful, I'm popping to the branch in the morning.

Good to see the post-election bond rates creeping up...

You will have to be quick, the last decent rate they did lasted all of about 2 days before it was pulled.
I guess it depends if you can get a similar rate somewhere else, or work out how much interest you would lose by cashing in early.
    Nothing to see here

Went to the branch and they closed my Call direct 30 and put it all into a new fixed rate. No loss of interest etc, in fact no problems and a nice cup of tea while we were waiting.

Glad to be of service Iconic
