Dave: that looks like my kind of prices, although I don't recognise the name. Any clues who stocks Alan Roman?
I managed to get some Mr Fothergill's at 40p a pop last year, but that was Woolies, so a new source of bargains will be more than welcome.
Mind you, with the amount I can grow, I'm still using some packets from last year anyway!0 -
on their website they say they use the same seed merchants, but without the fancy packaging. they are friendly with another popular seed supplier, and have links on their page, you can directly compare seed prices and you will be surprised!
also, i got their info from another thread on here, so thanks to MSE again!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

Wilkinsons sell some really cheap packets of seeds too, you just have to pay attention as some of the aren't cheap!0

I got seeds at 28p for a small pack and 47p for a large pack in Lidl... I also got a Garden Vegetable pack £1 (6 varieties) in Poundland :-)0
-
Why do they always put coriander in these packs! I HATE coriander!!

Me too, also on the coriander!
A seed swap has to be the answer, as many people seem to really love the stuff! There must be something else they have that they don't like and you do.0 -
Yes I hate coriander too. Tastes of soap. However, you don't necessarily have to waste the seeds. If you've got an empty patch of ground in the early autumn from which you've pulled other crops, if the weather is mild it's worth sowing it, letting it grow until it dies off or gets frosted and digging it in as a green manure.0

I never thought of a seed swap! DOH! Well I might have to take a trip to Poundland later on then!
Anyone want any Coriander seeds??? lolMarried the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
ANother newbie veg grower here
love this thred some great tips and advice.
Don't know if anyone can help but i have a small question - My chilli seeds have not shown any sign of doing anything ?
They got planted at the same time as my toms, herbs, salad (1st crop) and some flower seeds ( 2 weeks ago) all in doors on a south facing window sill.
All the others have come up ( toms are 2 inches high! ) but nothing, not one little head popping up to say hello in the chilli pots
Do chillis take longer to germinate? or is it poss they have failed? ( 2 types all from purchased seeds )0
