I can see the courgette behind the flower, so it must be a male flower ........ you mean to say I'm not going to be able to eat it !??!
 lol
There are loads of flowers on the plants too but this is the only one that is in 'bloom'. Dang it ....... even longer to wait until I harvest something now !
I did wonder if I would have to go out there with my little paintbrush but I'll leave it and see what happens. I've got some lavender in some pots so maybe i'll move one of them near the courgettes to attract the bees
Thanks again for all the advice - if I didn't have you lot, we'd have nothing to eat come July/August ! :rotfl::jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
hi there
If there is a courgette behind the flower its a female flower and yes you will get to eat it :j the male flowers don't have courgettes behind them -they are just there to pollenate the female flowers...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Yayyy :j ! Thanks MrsMcawber (you'll get fed up of me soon !)
lol
Tis a mystery how it's been 'fertilised' (probably the wrong word ! hahah) though as I have no other flowers in bloom on it at the moment ! Oh well, i'm not complaining !
Your plate of food the other day looked sooooooooo nice  !
We had some more strawberries last night (another 4 each) and I have just had some radishes with my salad lunch. I'm wishing the time away here (bad idea!).

I'd love to show you my little plot, but how do you upload images on here?

SEE - I think most set up an account with Photobucket (it's free) and upload their pics onto there. You can then click on the link and copy and paste it here and then others can see the pictures.
Not sure why, but some can post pics on here (I can't!) - maybe someone will be along soon who knows why.

I absolutely adore your veggie garden SEE
You've given me much needed inspiration to make mine look more presentable for next year as it currently just has beds dug over (no wooden edging) with compacted ground between for walkways, which I just know will turn into a mudbath come the winter :rotfl:
Can I ask what sort of wood you used please as it looks great!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
This one for those who like to see development:D So far this year I have saved £71 on picking salad from my garden:T~~~~~~~~~~~~Halifax, taking the Xtra since 1853:rolleyes:~~~~~~~~~~~~0
