As long as you follow the guidlines I gave earlier in this thread you would be quite safe buying through ebay (especially if you actually contact previous customers of the seller).0 -
ok, now that i have my bed and have had a night sleep in it i will give my verdict.
firstly on the service from argos. you can pick 3 different time slots in the day for them to come, 7am to 12noon, 10am to 2pm or 12noon to 6pm. i went for the middle one. at 8.05 am i got a call from them saying they would arrive in 30 minutes. i was still in the middle of sorting the room out. so i had to rush about. they actually arrived 15 minutes later. the dopey idiots went around the back of our house. how many peoples stairs are around the back? so i sent them around the front. as they got to the door i said it is the room with the door open that i want the bed in. they said we dont do that and left it in the hall. it clearly states in the terms that they are supposed to take it to the room of choice unless there is a health and safety issue. he didnt say there was a health and safety issue and he didnt even check if there was. so that wasnt the reason they didnt take it to my room. it was pure laziness.
so if you ever plan to get anything large delivered from argos keep two things in mind. firstly the time slot you pick is meaningless they could come at anytime. secondly if the blokes delivering your item are lazy cowboys they may not take it to your room of choice.
the bed itself seems fine. my first night sleep in it wasnt the best but that could be more to do with not being used to it.0 -
here is a new website dream bedzzz who i used for a bed, they did me a special pink faux leather for my daughter with diamante headboard, and only charged me £220 with delivery which was good as i am in birmingham and they are all the way in leeds..
making it to delivery took only 3 days..:T0 -

which shops should i avoid as well.
Hi, I think the site mrbed (you can find the site by Googling 'Bed Buying Forum') has a discussion forum with a bed buying expert. It also seems to have bed shops listed and shows which beds they have in stock - why not have a look and ask your questions there?
I hope that this helps :rotfl:0
