ok, i'm not sure if this is the right section. i need to get myself a new single bed. i dont want to buy online. what i need to know is which shops are the most reliable on price and delivery. i hear of so many people buying furniture and are still waiting for it to arrive 6 months later. so which shops will deliver in a reasonable time. that is the main priority but of course if one shop is cheaper than another then that is worth knowing about as well.
which shops should i avoid as well.

hello.
have you tried argos.co.uk - i know you said not online but you can always go into the store and order it - also they do sometimes have some excellent deals.0 -
well i do sort of want to be able to look at the bed before i buy. that was the main reason to not buy online. i also didnt want loads of unheard of online stores being recomended. i havent bought furniture for a long time so dont have a clue which shops are reliable. if argos are reliable on delivery i might check them out.0

We bought ours from Ikea, and very well made.Pleased with it.0

what were they like on delivery? did you buy online?0

Ikea
I bought a bed for myself and one for my daughter from them and they are so comfortable.. they also have a policy that you can exchange the mattress within 90 days if you dont like it, they will pick it up and bring you a new choice of mattress..all their mattresses have a 25 year guarantee!0 -
ikea are very good for delivery..very reliable but they do charge.0

i dont mind delivery charges so long as they are not extortionate. comet charged us £99 last year to get a new cooker delivered and installed. installed being connecting a pipe to the wall and hooking up a chain.0

The 1st bed we bought from Ikea was a divan so we had it delivered with other things , charged £35 ,but when it came we could`nt get it upstairs ! Off we trotted back to Ikea and bought a flatpack.I rang them up for them to pick up other bed and as long as wrapping still on you get all your money back - we did, plus were`nt charged for pick up either.0

Forgot to say also that we went tolook at all beds before we bought online, instore we were quoted £45 for delivery but it was less than that online.0
