AVG 8.0 wrong information on site or lack of

The new AVG 8.0 has now become like a lot of others as in they are trying to get you to pay for it as the new version 8.0 does not scan emails. Please beware of this as this site needs to update it's view on AVG. Sorry Martin but as their is no where on your site to contact anyone and be absolutely sure you will read it this is the only way I can get it out to everyone.:D

In AVG Free, I keep on getting these pop-ups telling me to buy AVG 8 and stuff. It comes pretty frequently and is pretty annoying.

I don't respond so well to hard selling.

Do you mean in 7.5?

I get the popup as well and I haven't read it properly, but I'm assuming that it's not just telling you to buy the full AVG 8 but rather telling you that you have to update to AVG 8 Free because support for 7.5 is ending soon - so in that sense it is useful.

We've been through this before with AVG - Unclear popups making people think they have to buy

Last time I had to put up this sticky (and I think Martin even mentioned it in the Money Tip email)

I think their unclear popups are a small price to pay for a free product - Unlike most free stuff on your system it has to be constantly updated.

It certainly scans emails. It also, for some reason, makes MSN believe that ZoneAlarm is switched off (it's not) and MSN keeps warning me about this and urging me to turn on the MSN firewall.

same here, mine also scans emails and ive had no pop ups either
