problems paying into Egg ISA

Hi everyone,
When I try and deposit money in to my Egg Cash ISA it says "transaction unsuccessful"! I've been trying for a few days now. I've sent them 'a secure message' as they call it, it but had no response yet.
Does anyone have any idea why I can't pay into it? I've not subscribed to any other ISA's this year, only transferred previous years' allowances to other providers (am in the process of it anyway).

Have you called them up as I believe you can sort it over the phone.0

Phoned them, they said they've been having problems with the website for a couple of weeks as they are changing servers. She did the transaction over the phone for me.
Have to say their automated voice system is off-putting! I knew it was a recording I was 'speaking' to but the guy was so informal and was asking me for all this info I started wondering whether it was legitimate...! He even said "hellooooooooo?" like you'd say to a mate if they couldn't see something that was obvious. I can see what they're trying to do: put across an image of themselves as approachable, but when it comes to giving passwords and personal info over the phone, I'd rather hear something a bit more conventional and formal!0 -
I agree it is offputting. The least painful way to speak to someone is to stay silent during any prompts and the system quickly passes you on.purplestar133 wrote: »Have to say their automated voice system is off-putting! So it's not just me experiencing payment problems then? Some debit card payments appear immediately and some the next day. Even with their assistance I don't think you able to speed up the actual processing of your request (i.e. if it doesn't appear instantly then it will appear when it does)
Depending on who you bank with your 'available' balance can update immediately - confirming that your payment to Egg has been requested. This is certainly the case with Halifax, Nationwide, A&L and Barlcays but not with First Direct (HSBC?) or Lloyds IME.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Milarky - it depends what day you do the transaction. If its before 6pm or something it will go through same day, otherwise next day.0

I'm still having probs paying in - a month later. I rang up again and they transferred my money over the phone but I don't want to do that every month or so - the point of having an internet account is for the convenience.
Does anyone know what's causing the prob? Last time I rang they said they had been moving the website to a different server. This time I rang, he mumbled on about the 'verified by visa' scheme and how my bank might not be enrolled in it so it's affecting my ability to do a debit card transaction with Egg. However that's not caused me probs before. My transactions always went through before even though my bank is not in the 'verified by visa' scheme.0 -

Their customer service at the moment is crap - I can't access my statement and my direct debit was taken and then returned rather than being added to my ISA - the phone people don't seem to have a clue what's going on.

The quickest way to bypass the computerised security guy is once you have told him which product you're asking about just press any number on the keypad in response to his next question. After the 2nd attempt at asking you he will give up and put you through anyway
