New HTC Touch Diamond mobile phone

HTC have a new mobile phone handset the HTC Touch Diamond --it looks quite nice too, a mixture of the LG Viewty, the iPhone and the Nokia 7500 (i think they ripped off the triangle design from that one) and its 3G.

Is HTC becoming a serious rival to the other manufacturers? :T

Only problem with the touch diamond is you can't increase the 4GB memory, ie. no card slot. Other than that its cool. £429 sim free a bit steep though.

O2, T-mobile and others rebrand HTC phones, like the xda orbit 2 is the HTC touch cruise.

by far the best phones i have ever owned
my first 1 was the TYTN which was excellent but had not gps reciever so i had to have an external reciever for tomtom
i now have the TYTN11 (Kaiser) and this does have a gps reciever so i now have 1 thing in my car instead of 3 - phone, pda, tomtom unit all in 1
the tytns have windows mobile, office, media player and other stuff on them
    they are touch screen

think it may be too dear, i like either the touch dual or the touch black or the touch cruise. just going to narrow it down. maybes discard the dual as i,m sure it,s not wifi enababled..
  • HTC also do a nice ultra mobile personal computer - HTC Shift, they are not as glamorous as motorola, or samsung or nokia, but they seem to make up for it in other areas.

They have been around for years and make phone for other companies. The Orange SPV Smartphone range is I believe rebranded HTC phones. I've had a couple and found them to be excellent.
