have to say Heeley's drive me nuts when kids whiz around supermarkets etc in them. am 5 months pregnant and can't get out of their way very fast so have been bumped before!. also have seen older people get bumped once or twice. these things are fine outdoors inparks etc but not indoors!0

im another who hates them im afraid. I love roller boots and roller blades, but thats cause kids dont tend to use them in inappropriate places - but these shoes they all assume because they look like trainers they r fine just anywhere!0

I hate them too, I don't bother trying to get out of the way anymore, if they roll into me then they are going down."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
my eldest son has them but i bought the proper heeleys with two wheels as apparnetley they are better for learning in, you can always take a wheel out when they have mastered it, also do gert a size bigger as they come up small., i must say though my child does not have the wheels in when we go shopping or are just down our street etc the only time he is allowed them in is in the park, even then not in the play area as there are usually to many smaller kids around (apparentley this makes me a boring mum according to my son but hey who cares at least he is safer and everyone else around him)now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

Buy them a skateboard each, or rollerblades, they're proper sports - heeleys just look lazy to me and the way they throw the body out of alignment - the foot bent the opposite direction it should be, the knees straight and locked, all of which puts immense pressure on the back and neck, looks really damaging.
(Proviso - not got children yet, only as baby week overdue, but have been practicing saying 'No' at all the adverts on television etc. and DH and I formulating policy on PC use etc. including this issue. Ahem.)

I agree with other posters - if you must get these for your kids keep them out of shops when they are wearing them, I bloody hate it when kids whizz round supermarkets on these things, they get a good bash with my trolly if I can manage itWiggly:heartpulsFB0

The love/hate heelys argument will rage forever, however, the OP asked for advise on buying them, not a lesson in morality.0

Thanks so much everyone!
They definitely won't be using them in supermarkets as I can't bear this myself!
Anyone seen any offers recently?
I saw them in Sports Direct yesterday for £30 - thought this was good?
