Evening everyone. Met up with a friend for a meal but we went to the BOGOF pub and had chicken and bacon salad and shared a portion of chips, with a soft drink each cost £5, thought that was quite good value and enjoyed not cooking:D

Headoutthesand - Glad you got the tax credits sorted:eek:

Paintedlady - Hope your little one is feeling better, if you are worried don't think twice take baby straight to casualty.

klane - good result with expedia, I usually remember about this sort of thing after i have booked something. Nice surprise with the boots card too:D

Cleosmum/yorkshire belle - Cooking:mad: DD once had to make pizza - pre pack pizza base, tomato pizza topping in a jar, a bag of grated cheese, and a packet of pepperoni slices-:confused: lots of cooking skills to be learnt there and would have been cheaper going to pizza hut:rolleyes:

eternal optimist - good luck with starting your business empire:rotfl:

Nice late addition... just rechecking the MS sites I'm with and picked up £25 over 5 jobs in the next couple weeks too, plus about £20 of "stuff" as part of it. Gonna take a colleague for free pizza for lunch tomorrow to for a MS for which I will get paid a whole shiny pound, haha.

Really wishing I lived near Kingston right now though... one of the co's is offering to pay you to buy/eat half a dozen really fabulous doughnuts! Yes, really!

Cleosmum - you have described my childrens food tech experiences!! I suppose it is hard to cook much in a one hour lesson but really....!!!

We used to manage to cook things from scratch in our 1 hour home ec lessons, they werent taxing but they were from scratch and shop bought bits were frowned upon lol. Ahhhh those were the days......

Haha, not joining the long list club... I think andan would beat me every time. I think I'm just good at waffling in my posts so it LOOKS really long. :)

Jak - don't lose heart. We'll keep you motivated. My OH has his moments too, but gradually is getting more interested in what I'm doing, as he's started to appreciate that those pennies are making pounds and that he's missing out I think! Introduce him to the snowball too... regularly!

Hi all - sorry for being so late checking in (and being absent for a few days lately!!) - I realise that it is now "tomorrow" for this thread, but I hope you don't mind me posting anyway...!

    Today, I...

    - did piggyclicks (finally I got one!:j) and lightspeed checks
    - checked online banking
    - dried 2 loads of washing on the airer, rather than using the tumble drier :T

    On the "downside"...

    - I was meeting a friend for lunch today (and we take it in turns to pay and it was his turn! :p) and he cancelled on me this morning, due to a last minute work meeting. Not a problem because we often re-schedule our lunches at the last minute, but it meant that I didn't have lunch with me and had to buy something... :o

    On the "upside"...

    - this evening, Mr P and I went round to my boss's house to have a "birthday supper" with him and his wife (its my birthday on Friday - oh yes, I share my birthday with Martin Lewis himself...except I'm a year younger!!:rotfl:). We were totally spoiled from the minute we arrived (to be met with drinks and nibbles in the garden), through a three course "banquet" including a birthday cake with candle!...not the "informal supper" we were told to expect, and I was also given lovely presents (a beautiful pashmina and a yummy box of chocolates) and a card. I am such a lucky Piglet - from a "DFW point of view", we had a "free" dinner...from a "general point of view", my boss and his wife are lovely - its a pleasure to work for them - and Mr P and I had a fantastic evening!! What touched me even more - halfway through the evening, their son (a student who is currently travelling in South America) rang to wish me a Happy Birthday - he had been speaking to his Dad earlier today, who happened to mention that we were going for dinner, so he thought he would call and join in the celebrations!

Will stop rambling now...haven't really achieved much from a DFW angle, but have had a lovely day! :D

P.S. So busy waffling I forgot to say...

    - Painted lady - I hope your baby is OK and you didn't end up at the hospital...
    - Candy and Hayley - good luck with the job searching!
    - andan and klane - you are both an inspiration...you do so many DFW things each day (it tires me out just reading through your achievements - but secretly it makes me want to make more of an effort, so thank you for that!!)
    - sophiesmum - your BOGOF pub meal sounds lovely - glad you enjoyed it!
    - jak - sorry to hear about OH. Don't give up though...we'll support you all the way, and I'm sure once Mr jak notices how much better things are with your efforts, he'll come round to your way of thinking!!
