Hi there
decided to take advice and get a water meter.
was told it would cost £329 to fit !!!!!
on my reckoning that would take me 4 years before i would save anything!

    Welcome to the forum.

    All water companies must fit them for free.

    If they can't fit them because it is impractical, then you get an assessed charge based the average for the number of people in your property, or in some cases number of bedrooms.

    the waterboard surveyor came round and wtd to fit meter in my livingroom(stopcock fitted in small cubboard incorner) but for obvious reasons i declined hence the cost of fitting outside.

    Whats the problem with fitting it inside, most can have "outreaders" fitted so they dont need to come inside to read the meter.
