To get it to work, you must reformat it to NTFS by (windows users) right clicking its icon in 'My Computer', choosing format, and selecting NTFS from the drop down under 'File system'. Mac OSX users can achieve the same thing using Disk Utility in the applications folder.

Mac OS X cannot format drives as NTFS (and even if it could, OS X cannot natively write to an NTFS volume, so it would be rather pointless to do so).

Mac users need to format it as a Mac OS Extended volume using Disk Utility (which is in the Utilities folder in Applications).

If you do this though, Windows PCs will not be able to read it unless they have suitable software, so if you're swapping data between Macs and PCs, its best to stick with FAT32.
• Three pieces of advice.

1) Don't buy from Ebay. Seriously, if you buy a flash drive from Ebay, you are almost guaranteed to end up with hacked memory, appearing to be larger than it is. Paypal will only refund you if you post the stick back, at your own cost. Not only that, but by posting a counterfeit item you yourself may be breaking the law.

2) If you are buying in bulk for promotional reasons, have a read of our blog, which explains exactly what the difference between a cheapish and a slightly more expensive flash drive will be. Basically, if you buy the cheap stuff in bulk you will end up with Grade B memory, which is slower and less reliable than Grade A stuff. If you are very unlucky, you may even end up with Ebay-like hacked memory.
3) never put a lightbulb in your back pocket.

Because of the very strict policy on no advertising on the site, you need to contact the admin before "advertising" your own website in order to get permission. Contact !!!!!! or directly to the user MSE Andrea. That way you can also get permission to post as a representative of a company (there's an official list on the forum). Otherwise you're in danger of having your posts deleted.
