Thanks a lot for that code. I just used it for the same 8Gb drive (it's now reduced to £15.99) and got it for £15.19.

I'd never recommend or suggest buying USB memory keys/sticks from eBay, there are so many fakes sold, you'll end up paying for an 8Gb and find really it's a 4Gb just made to appear as a 8Gb. It often crops up on the Tech forum. Caveat emptor!0

Lots of good deals here on 7 Day shop:

FWIW, there's a neat piece of software at:
http://www.sdean12.org/USBFlashTools.htm
which can automatically determine the real capacity of a USB flash drive (or memory cards like SD cards, compact flash cards, etc) and reports if you've been sold a fake or not.
VERY useful if you buy anything like this of ebay!0 -
Does anyone know of a good value for money 16gb drive? I looked at the one on Play.com which is £34.99, working out more expensive than buying two of their 8gb ones at £15.99 each (or £15.09 with the promotion code "experience08").
I really need to free up space on my laptop but don't want to spend loads on an external hard drive so this would be a good way of doing it if I can get a good price. Thank you in advance!

Cait, if it's information that won't change (such as pictures, music, pdf's, program files, etc), it would be cheaper to back it up onto CD or DVD.I have no signature.0

I'm looking for some mega-cheap usb flash drives.
Capacity is not an issue (128 or 256 is fine), but i'd like an offer like that £1.41 SVP one - as I need to buy around 30 drives.
Can anyone find me a deal.
Cheers.0 -

Indeed. Ebay's full of scammers doing this, and most people never check, or at least don't fill the thing past its true capacity before leaving feedback, so the scammers get a nice rating.
Spend a tenner on a 4GB drive and get a 128MB drive instead. Not good.
Report the seller to ebay/paypal and you'll get a refund and probably end up keeping the fake drive, but ebay should make a point of emailing their previous customers to inform them that they might've bought fake goods. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Does anyone know if the Play.com 4GB USB flash drive (£8.99 delivered) can be used with Windows 98SE?
I've tried looking at some of the reviews on their site without success0
