My local HMV just swipe my NUS extra card through their doo-dah for 10% off. In saying that, I haven't purchased there since February.

I asked about the HMV student card in-store yesterday (asked a month ago, was told they are waiting for them to come in)

I was told they won't issue any until September, with the new 2008-2009 NUS card as proof of being a student.

I am pretty sure they should just give you the discount if you can produce a current NUS card. I never got round to getting a card, but I still got the student discount. If they don't give you the discount after producing the card, just say you don't want the goods and I am quite sure they'll "see what they can do".

They weren't interested - I showed them my NUS Extra card, but they said they'd only give a discount with one of THEIR cards :mad:

So, I went to Zavvi (or Virgin if you prefer) where they gave me 10% off with my NUS Extra, then put through an application for their in-house student card on the spot.
