I am on the 512k service just now and paying £14.99 per month
Looking on their website, it only costs £9.99 a month for 512k now and it says its open to existing customers aswell as new ones.
I will be on the phone in the morning to demand my £9.99 a month
I was going to wait for it to be upgraded to 2mb for no extra money, but I dont need the extra speed, so am going to take the money off my monthly bill instead.
Didnt see any mention of the price change in my latest bill, Telewest expect you just to 'know' these things.

You should have checked your crystal ball!!!
I would ask for the fiver back if the £9.99 was advertised before you paid your bill!!!!0 -
Sounds a bit like the PlusNet changes that took effect in April. (People on 2Mbps Premier at £39.99, had their service changed to Premier "up to 8Mbps", but could downgrade for free to "up to 2Mbps" for just £21.99.
I believe people are still paying the £39.99pm for "up to 8Mbps" since April, for a product that doesn't even exist yet, and not likely to until the new year.0 -
The £9.99 is only if you take their line rental as well. I also noticed that the speed of 512k at £9.99 will NOT be upgraded when telewest upgrade their broadband speeds from 512k to 2mb.
If 512k is ok for you and you're happy then ask for the £9.99 offer (providing you take their linerental). If you want the faster 2mb when it is released then you are best to stick on your current speed now (and tariff price) to benefit from the increase.0 -

Yes it is for existing customers who do NOT have broadband.
See Mr Skints first link here is a direct quote "For new and existing Telewest customers who do not have a blueyonder broadband service.
Offer ends 30th September 2005."
But you are already have broadband so it is not an offer that is open to you. You could ring them up and say things are really tight at the moment and you can't afford the extra £5 a month. And they might be nice and let you have it for £9.99 but don't hold your breath.

blueyonder is the name of telewests broadband, it means the same
BTW if you phone them up and cancel you can normally get a few months free or say you know you can get ukonline 512k for £10 and they may match it0 -
