New Kitchen

Dear All,
We are planning to replace our kitcchen and have looked at a few kitchen suppliers/manufacturers i.e. B&Q, Wickes, Kitchens2go and Betta Living.
We are only looking to replace units only.
Importantly we are looking at a budget kitchen, so we had a quote from B&Q on one of thier IT kitchens - Plum Style shacker for about £1,333 for about 15 units including work-top, a 1.5 sink and tap after 15% discount. They have other nice ones whose' price is upto about £1600.
The kitchens look great, but my question is about the quality. Can anyone advice me about the quality of B&Q kitchens, especially the frame/carcas.
We had another quote from Betta Living for about £1800. Their units look very rigid though.
Kind regards.

Jamie,
Thanks very much. It seems you deal with appliances so I will get in touch and buy my cooker from you, if that's okay0 -
B&Q: The units are generally okay (expecially if on a budget) - you obviously still have the problem of fitting the kitchen. Also you may find it cheaper if you buy the kitchen off the shelf - the planner (albeit quoted as 'free') lists the units you need but they are often wrong and the prices are often higher.
Be careful with the workstops and make sure that they are not bowed - they sometimes do not store them correctly.
You can get a decent bargain but its better to take time and keep an eye on what arrives otherwise you may encounter problems when fitting.
regards
Jamie

You might want to consider IKEA for the units, I haven't seen any bad reviews from users, they come with a 25yr g'tee and (I think) the carcases are 18mm instead of the standard 12/15.
Prices seem comparable to B&Q and if you join the family club you get 5% off 1st purchase.Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0 -
Evershaw, please do not think I'm being nasty, I genuinely am not. I am sure you mean well, and I think this may have already been pointed out, but this board attempts to be impartial and advertising "par se" is not encouraged. I totally understand why you are doing it and your honest attempts behind it, but it can be seen as being impartial.
Now we all like to get little things across, but there are ways of saying it;-)

I run a Maintenance Company and have bougt a lot of kitchens from Howdens and find their quality to be good as are the prices. A note of caution - you will find many discussions on this forum about the poor quality of workmanship and exceedingly poor customer care that is received form B & Q Fitters. Go down that route at your peril.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
