Update: bought .com from Namecheap at 11pm last night, got up this morning and it's set up and ready to go.
Absolutely no problems. I will be using them for cheap domains again.0 -
To be honest mate, avoid Godaddy, I've heard of a lot of horror stories - and I'm with 123-reg myself and frankly, it's rubbish.
One and one are cheap and good, but bad customer support - if you know what you're doing it's the one :P
I used GoDaddy recently to register a domain that I have hosted elsewhere and it was great . I even had to try their support for some help and it was very very good!To infinity and beyond!0 -
And for the record, I've used 1&1 a few times. I've never had any problem with them myself, but at the end of the day, they're just not that cheap. You can get better for less, so there's no real point.0

I've just used http://www.namecheap.com for my .com domain name using the code "summerends" I got it for $8.41 which I thought was pretty good. To be honest as long as you're not hosting the site with any of these companies then they all tend to be as good or as bad as each other. The only thing you're ever likely to change is the DNS names, so it points at your which you really should be hosting in your own country for SEO purposes (depending on what your website does i.e. if it is a UK based site and most of your custom is UK based then get hosting in the UK)0

https://www.registron.co.uk and https://www.4dreg.com are good for .uk registrations with competitive prices.0

I used one.com for my wife since they offer free hosting for a year with 3GB of space (well not exactly fee, they did charge me an admin fee of £9). Not bad at all and no issues so far. Just a word of caution, if you only plan to use the free period, they require a 45 notice period. Do you got to be careful.
Considering the prices for registering a .com domain, £9 for a year of hosting seemed like a good deal to me :THi ive done a search but couldnt find a definate answer.
Could someone please advise me who is good for registering a domain with?
some people say www.godaddy.com try and seel u all kinds of extra's but ive also heard that www.123reg.com arent very good either?!
can anybody shed some light on whether or not they are good? and if anybody has anyother sites/comapmy's that they use?
thanks0
