Daily usage on 3 bedroom house with E7 all elcetric.
After getting my last energy bill from Powergen i decided to keep a record of my daily usage to see if it is worth changing supplier.
I have a 3 bedroom house with storage heaters, E7 billing, 2 adults and 2 under 3's.
Everything is electric, i have a gas supply but do not use it.
for the last month my avergae daily useage has been 14 units usage peak and 29 units night time. thats 43 units a day. does this sound to much or would this be right for a house and family of this size?
I am thinking of moving over to Scotish Power and there capped rate till 2011

For an all electric house that sounds quite reasonable. Your "daytime" usage is very similar to mine - I have gas for hot water & central heating.
Gas is a much cheaper way of heating your house, but in your case you would have to fork out a considerable sum to get gas C/H installed.
Certainly go for the cheapest supplier !0 -

Why not?
Gas is about 3p /kwh so is almost certain to be cheaper than the cheapest electric, even taking into account in-efficiencies.
HTH
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
