Tesco Have New Directive!!

  • There is no mention of this on the Tesco website - I suspect it's specific to one store. I can't imagine Tesco would introduce this as a national policy, as it would be abused even more than the overcharge policy!
  • wonder if it works for all tesco products, like for instance toys with damaged boxes there are always loads in my store, could be a moneysaving christmas for me, just think of all the dented tins of biscuits and chocies
Running total for swagbucks - £270 since Jan
    Running total for superpoints -

The lady in the Southend on Sea branch definately told me that it was a new Tesco directive because of all of the wasted items.

Perhaps it's just a bit slow in being adopted by all branches.

still...anyone in the southend on sea area... tuck in:)

Any new Tesco policy is sent to all stores via 'Host' (email type program) so if one store is told of this then so is all stores.

I would highly doubt if this is a nationwide directive, as I previously stated its more of an 'instore' one.

What is the overcharge policy and is it nationwide?

I was recently overcharged £4 on a bottle of wine and simply given the £4 back...

  • I got damaged tins of tesco rice pud, and ambrosia custard for 9p last week, instead of 38p! Nothing wrong with the contents, only the tins!

I thought it was illegal to sell damaged tins.........
  • its not national policy more like a particular store with bad waste split trying to get their figures looking better - most stores now have a "reduced to clear" shelf for damages etc - wirm will know that targets are 80-10-10 - ie of damaged or out of code 80% reduced - 10% waste - 10% damages - all stores have their own ways of reaching these targets and actively compete with each other in regions. so dont waste time looking for damages chances are in majority of stores they will swap it and the damaged goods will go to the back door to be reduced and put on RTC or Staff Only Purchases.

If you are overcharged you get your money back and you can keep the item. It is a national policy, but not sure if it applies to Metro or Express shops because I've only ever seen the policy advertised in supermarket or Extra stores.

B***tards! Bottle was marked £19.98 - they charged me £23.98. Wish I had known of this at the time! Wasn't a Metro or Express - just local store.

Would have tasted oh so much better to have got money back and keep the wine!

    Thanks for that wallace.
