Sorry, no helpful advice but that's one of my worst nightmares and I'm completely anal about checking everything before I click that 'pay' button. You've made me even worse now. :rotfl:

I have no idea if the payment can be reversed but I suspect it probably cant. I hope I'm wrong though.

Can you not ring them now?
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

    See:

    http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/personal/contact

Click on the 'Important contact numbers' link in the 'Call Us' section.

As its after 10pm, no one is operating on the main numbers. I guess you could try the lost / stolen cards to see if they can give you any advice. Alternatively you could send an e-mail via the HSBC secure message service. However, I think the best bet is to simply call them at 8am tomorrow to hopefully get it stopped.

    Good luck.

That is my major worry - I will be in major financial do do this month if it can't. The annoying thing is I know I typed in £100!!! I am 110% sure of that where did the pesky other 1 come from.

I am furious with myself but even more cross because I know it probably can't be reversed. :(

Tried ringing all numbers I could find but no reply. I will ring them at 8am, and hope for the best if not I think by 8:30 I will be grovelling to my mum and dad for a bit of help this month - and explaining that I am an idiot

Is it a HSBC credit card? Might make a difference...otherwise, I fear, no chance!

How large is your overdraft facility? Will it absorb the amount without incurring charges...only debit interest?

If you don't have an overdraft facility, or you're at the limit of it now, the payment may be refused when they process overnight tonight.

You say you're "110% sure"...how many confirmation screens are presented for approval before your payment is sent?

Once the payment hits your credit card, you could ring them & ask them to remit the credit balance back to your bank (assuming you do actually go into credit :o )

Oh dear, try to think of it as a bonus in that you will cut down on the interest you will pay - then get across onto the 'OS' board or the 'live on £4000 a year' board and start cutting back quick - you never know it might become a habit and you will soon have all your credit cards paid off!

Yorkshire Boy, Two screens. One with details off how much you wish to pay for me to input details, second screen with details of how much you wish to pay and confirmation. Go to Account screen - £1000 gone from account, well actually £1001. I am fastidious about my money and payments and would double, triple check payment details before hitting send. Going to leave it now and see what happens in the morning - I suppose if they can't do anything my credit card debt will be wiped out which is a good thing although it was a new 0% one.

looby-lou -great minds I reckon! I am sort of trying to look at it in a positive vein now, but will still call in the morning.
