I'm borrowing a Swann at the moment which I like, but it seems they don't make the, anymore. It looks like the Breville and AWT breadmaker (neither of which have had good reviews, Breville, poor customer service and AWT generally naff)
I'm looking for one that does 3 sizes of loaf and only has 1 paddle so you only get 1 hole in the bottom of the loaf. I've rad about one whose paddle goes down somehow during the bake cycle so you don't get the hole.
Personally I don't like the look of the Panasonics, too tall (I know that it doesn't matter the way it looks and that only the way it cooks is important)

The panasonic makes 3 sizes, I usually find the M and L are more than adequate - the XL makes very large slices of toast :D I've never found the paddle a problem - it never gets stuck in the bread yes there is a hole at the base of the bread but I don't really know why some people are bothered by it  - it just reminds me that I'm eating home-made bread. Their c/s is good too and the ladies on the cookery advice line are very helpful.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Latest news on me acquiring a breadmaker.

I won a MR FastBake on Ebay, only cost £25 incl delivery and it's Stainless steel so it'll match my other appliances.

Can't wait for it to arrive.

They have 2 of the 252 models boxed at £44.99 if anyone is interested:money:

just caught this & was popping in to say that it may be worth making your own & seeing if you like it first but see I'm too late! I have a BM (MR fastbake) which is ok but I have now discovered the therapeutic value of kneading bread & have a quick recipe for when I cant be bothered (literaly chuck it in, mix it by hand, leave to rise for 1/2 hour, cook for 40mins & there you go yummy light bread! Serously considering flogging my bm as just dnt use it now...!
