Me and OH are off to Bulgaria in 4 weeks for a 9 night stay at an All Inclusive Resort (half paid for by Tesco!).
I have heard its quite cheap out there, how much spending money do you think we would need?
OH smokes, i don't and as mentioned its All Inclusive.

Me & DH bring £50 per day for AI & £100 per day for SC.
So I would say £450.
If I wanted to buy something specific (duty free, ect) or go somewhere specific or hire a vehicle, I would add that in as an extra.
Bulgaria is susposed to be the cheapest place in Europe though :-)0 -
I was thinking more £300 for both of us as the exchange rate is quite good?
Anyone else think take more like mrs e says? Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
the Bulgarian Lev is linked to the Euro, so the exchange rate is not good.0

Can I just ask Kaydn I had planned to take my first family holiday abroad to Bulgaria Sunny Beach next to a new water park, I was all excited about it because I had chosen an apartment I liked from eBay and had priced my flights up from Manchester, but was disappointed to hear from a few friends not to go to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria and even the travel agent told me she wouldn't recommend Bulgaria.
I was so disappointed, this is going to be our first holiday abroad with two girls ages 6 & 7, now I'm completely confused where to book our holiday, travel agent told me to look into Spain!
What do other people think of Bulgaria? Anywhere in particular that someone would recommend visiting in Bulgaria. Any advice?0 -
Bulgaria is very cheap and your staying all inclusive therefore id think £300 is plenty but maybe you could take £50 and keep it just incase.2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0

How very odd of your travel agent to say that? Maybe she is trying to flog unsold Spain hols because the euro is so bad!!!!
Im going back to Sunny Beach in June. I loved it so much last time we went (4yrs ago)
Very very cheap, lovely beaches and with most hotels situated on the beach its great.
I suppose there are a few dodgy areas but once you find your feet you know to avoid them.

Bulgaria is very cheap, and nice scenery etc. One word of warning thou...be careful of gangs of pickpockets, I had my wallet stolen and I knew nothing about it until it was too late.
They crowded round me going up some stairs & slowed my down while another stuck her hand into my bag. Then they scarpered. Luckily I only lost a few £££.
Most Bulgarians are very poor, and £50 to them is a few months pay so thievery (sp) is rife unfortunately. Be careful not to look like a tourist!!
Edit: I only took £100 for 2 week stay, although I was staying at my parents who had a house out there at the time.
