Best euro exchange rate

I always buy my euros from M&S , good exchange rate and if you use your M&S credit card to purchase currency, there is no cash advance fee0

Be careful if you're buying with an Alliance & Leicester debit card. I've just been charged £12 for the privilege of spending £800 with Travelex on line (having checked out the best rates). I've sent A&L a very terse email asking why they are charging me for spending my own money - but I expect they'll tell me it's in the small print. Kind of wipes out the 5% current account interest for several months, and even more of my goodwill.0

Not only with A&L card, but with most of other debit cards: see my post #49 in How to buy travellers cheques or foreign currency discussion.rotunda wrote:Be careful if you're buying with an Alliance & Leicester debit card. ...
However, for A&L (Interest rates & charges) I can find this charge now only for Premium Plus account:
I don't see anything like this for their other accountsCash withdrawals in the UK
All cash withdrawals from Alliance & Leicester cash machines are free. You will pay a charge of 1.5% (minimum charge £1.50) of any cash withdrawal obtained by the use of the Debit card at any Visa ATM which is not part of the Link Network, or at any financial organisation which accepts the Visa card. The charge may also apply to the purchase of foreign currency or travellers cheques at any outlet that provides foreign currency.
