But you will be pleased to know it does have a built in electric toothbrush so you can clean your teeth as you watch:rolleyes:

I think you're all missing the point.
Cracking though it may be for a SONY (incidentally, some Sony's are dreadful), it's an OLD TECHNOLOGY SONY using the WRONG FORMAT screen for modern equipment. If you've got old kit to connect to it, great - its probably an OK buy.
It's not about me or anyone else posting a better deal - It's not a competition to post the best deal for a TV! It's about commenting on a deal that's been posted.
IT'S NOT THAT GREAT A DEAL and it's certainly not a Grabbit IMHO.
If that comment stops some poor sod spending 130 smackeroonies on something they don't need (let's face it, nobody NEEDS a TV, most people WANT a TV) then my post was worth it.0 -

Personally I think you are missing the point. For this spec TV, from a reputable company it's a cracking buy.
For the same money from Tesco you can buy a Tecknika 15" TV which cannot be used as a PC screen. The cheapest you can get this Sony is £135 from Amazon and that is refurbished.

All very well and good. But it's a 4:3 screen. Is that really a grabbit in this day and age? Like I said, if you've got £130 burning a hole in your pocket.....0 -
Most people wont be connecting it to anything but the aeriel in their bedroom.Odd_Fellow wrote: »Cracking though it may be for a SONY (incidentally, some Sony's are dreadful), it's an OLD TECHNOLOGY SONY using the WRONG FORMAT screen for modern equipment. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this deal. If you read post #4 you will see why I bought this set. After 22 years our old Hitachi gave up the ghost. If this new TV provides the same sort of service I will be well chuffed.
I posted so that others on the look out for this size/type of TV could grab a good deal. As I've said, for the same money you can only get a "value" make. Of course if my budget was much bigger I could have bought a better spec TV but for us there was a limit of how much we wanted to spend on a bedroom TV.
I don't understand why you viewed this thread if you don't want a Sony 15" TV as I've stated the price, size, make etc in the thread title. I'm sure if you can find a better spec LCD 15" digital TV by a reputable make for similar money other posters would love to hear about it.

This is the reason why myself and other members no longer post offers. Instead of helpful advice - you get unreasonable responses. The last one I posted I was told I could get a bigger SD card for a few pounds more responding in a sniggering manner. Why he didn't offer that in the first place is beyond me.I don't understand why you viewed this thread if you don't want a Sony 15" TV as I've stated the price, size, make etc in the thread title. Please be courteous in your responses and more people may come back on with offers.

What's all the fuss about widescreen?Odd_Fellow wrote: »All very well and good. But it's a 4:3 screen. Is that really a grabbit in this day and age? Like I said, if you've got £130 burning a hole in your pocket.....
To get the same screen height you would have to buy a 22"+ for another £100 quid to have the same height and a 22" screen is too wide for a lot of bedrooms unless you put it on the far wall.;)ac's lovechild0 -

You just don't get it, do you? It's not about whether I have a better deal - this is not the "I've got a better deal than you" thread - it's GRABBIT. It's also open season on comments. MY VIEW is that it's not that great a deal given that it's not widescreen. I am entitled to my opinion as are you. The forum is here to air these opinions and that's what I am doing. You're turning it into a personal attack when I only ever commented on the deal.
To satisfy your misunderstood curiousity on this, I looked at the thread because I run two holiday companies that could make use of such an item. HOWEVER, because it's not future-proofed (it being 4:3 aspect), buying these for my businesses would not be an entirely sensible move.0 -

For goodness sake, am I not entitled to post a contrasting opinion on something? I haven't made any comment on the OP nor any other poster. One man's meat is another man's poison. I've conceded that it's a fine deal as far as it goes, what more do you want?
If you're all so touchy about what anyone else feels about your grabbits, then it's probably wise to have stopped posting them as you appear not to be able to deal with it. Just accept that you may not have found the best deal and move on - perhaps even thank the poster who says "for a few groats more, you can have this better one" rather than bollocking him for cramping your style.
Are these forums designed to give power back to the consumer or are they merely here to massage egos?0
