I need a financial adviser/angel :A who can take me by the hand and guide me a swell as lend a helping hand to sort out everything Finance. Someone trustworthy and not a shark.
My illness leaves in a state of total fatigue mentally and physically
I jsut been diagnosed with terminal cancer with a life expectancy of just about 5 years.
I need help to sort out my endowment mortgage and critical illness cover, pension (if any), benefit entitlement( if any), work entitlement , oh yes and the my debt's which are mounting up.
What are the criteria of finding an honest Joe Financial adviser/angel - do they exhist.
I am desperate, can someone guide me to the right person.
Where should I start?

Hugs from me too.
Now, tell us a little more about yourself (if you like): dependents? debts?
I'm thinking maybe an SOA on the debt free wannabe board as a starting point. You can get a little background info/do a bit of preparation before you go to see the most suitable someone. The most suitable 'angel' may be a range of people, each with one aspect that the folks on here can help you tie together...:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Have you looked at this site http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Get_Support/Financial_help/Find%20advice%20services.aspx. Macmillan can provide guidance on benefits and grant available too.
Having had cancer myself I know how hard it is to get your head around things.0 -
You mention endowment mortgage - indicating life cover but does it also cover critical illness?
To give best/honest answers we need to know a little bit more about your circumstances - eg whether you are single, married with or without children etc etc.
So sorry to hear about your illness let's hope that you get at least 5 good years.
Try and do all those things you have ever wanted to do!0 -
Regarding your mortgage and endowment, and any insurance cover post your questions on the mortgage board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=15 and there are experts who will help you.
But you need to be open and 100% honest and you need to look at your paperwork so that we can help you.
There are companies who will buy endowments and insurances from terminally ill people at a good rate. Thids could pay off your debts or money towards living costs.
But we also need to know if you have family how old they are what they do.
Then we would be happy to help you on here.
I also suggest you check out the MacMillan link posted above. And also your local CAB.
Write your posts in word or notepad and save it and then post on here then copy our answers across. This will save you time and effort not having to retype everything on various boards.0
