My husband changed his mobile service to orange 6 weeks ago. The deal seemed really good at the time. 1000 x network evening and weekend minutes free for £25.00 a month. The supplied phone was a K750i with a free bluetooth.
The bluetooth supplied was a motorola G2. Unfortunately this isn't compatible with this phone. After loads of phone calls to orange they eventually agreed to replace it, but they didn't know when it would be because they claimed they would have loads to replace. It is now 6 weeks on and still no bluetooth.
Does anyone know if orange actually send you a contract to sign? The actual phone was purchased direct from orange by telephone.
He is now losing all his free minutes because being a truck driver he can only use the phone with bluetooth. Orange agreed to credit one months free minutes, but now we are rapidly heading to the end of the next month which they refuse to credit.
Does anyone know where we stand with this. If the contract is cancelled do we still have to pay the remaining 11 months?
Orange claim the bluetooth is an accessory and doesn't form part of the contract therefore it is not breech of contract on there side.
Sorry this is so long but can anyone please help us. I know orange are normally rated as being good, but at the moment we are not at all impressed.

Give trading standards a call and see what they say, although the contract is for the handset and calls and the deal was offered over the phone rather than the internet and with having no paperwork to proove what you are supposed to have
Have a look in the phone manual as the k750i is listed as having handsfree so there might be an option for your husband still to be able to use till the bluetooth headset comes through.

it might be of some use.
If not I'd suggest you buy a new headset on eBay to use until Orange send you a working one. When you get a working one from Orange resell the one you bought (or the new one orange send). You'll probably lose a few quid from it, but with the amount of problems you seem to be having - it will probably be worth it!
Hope that helps.0 -
I had problems connecting a motorola HS800 with a Sony Ericsson p910i
I struggled for 2 days trying to get them to see each other - in the end I fully charged both & then switch ed both off for 10 minutes & hey presto it connected.
Might be the same problem with your headset/phone as I believe bluetooth use a set protocol so should not be incompatible0 -
Thanks for all the advise. I think we will go for the option of buying a bluetooth off ebay. Orange have admitted that the G2 bluetooth and phone aren't compatible which is a start I suppose.
Oh well off to visit ebay.0 -
Why not pop into your local Orange shop and explain the situation to them (less likely to get fobbed off). They might swap it there and then.
If they don't you could always cause a scene.
Saturdays are perfect as they are always really busy!!!!0 -
Already tried our local orange shop, except it says orange outside but it is actually a Jag shop. Unfortunately they wouldn't help us because we bought it direct from orange and not through them. They claimed they were still selling the G2 with the k750i. They kindly rang orange for us, but they go no joy out of them either.
I wish we had stuck with vodafone, but we were tempted in by the 1000 free minutes.0 -
My first 750i would not connect to any bluetooth device and had loads of other software errors. Look on various forums and was not alone. I quoted the problem and give Orange credit they picked it up the next day and gave me a new one at the same time. Its a known fault apparently.Cheers
