My wife's got a savings account with them. Not sure I'd recomend them as the site is often slow and often troublesome. But it's not so bad that we're moving the savings out.
Safety-wise, no problem.0 -
As others have said, it's backed by FSA so has full protection up to £3500.
I've been with them for some time - had no problems with customer service or website.
Just this week I have moved out a large sum because Kaupthing Edge now offer 6.5%, whereas ICICI HiSave is only 6.16% AER
why not go for the better rate at Kaupthing Edge????Constant change is here to stay0 -

Wife has HiSave account with ICICI. Forgot password and got locked out. Phoned for a replacement password to be sent. Wife has hearing problems and with the phone and the call centre was virtually unable to understand them. They would not allow me to act on her behalf. After a lot of hassle managed to understand them and received new password after 7 days. Tried to log in tonight with new password. locked out again. Emailed them this time hope to get better service. Very wary now as we needed to draw some money ugently for a holiday. Lucky we had sufficient funds in ICE bank which is a better bank to deal with.0

I've just withdrawn drawn £9.5k from there Hi-Save account and have instructed them to close my account. The bank is as safe as any other. However there customer service is terrible. After a long list of issues with them I have pulled out.
Note that every one of the problems I have had with them has been attributed to "Technical Difficulties" according to them.My farts hospitalize small children0 -
They are now offering a range of discounts of Indian meals in London, and on flights to India with Austrian Airlines. Surely these brilliant deals compensate for any shortcomings in their banking service.0

Hi. Late reply I know, but only just joined this forum to look for anyone who has had a similar experience to me.
I opened a HiSave account over a year ago, nerviously depositing the £1 minimum required, being unsure of a "new kid on the block" bank that I had not previously heard of. Shortly after, £20,000 of someone else's money was paid in to my account, and, being Mr Honesty, I immediately informed them of their mistake. Over a year later, they're obviously still having problems. Yes the money that wasn't mine in the first place, has disappeared from the account but they have sent me a Tax certificate for interest that I've earned on the money that wasn't mine in the first place.
Emailing or phoning is useless, I can't seem to make anyone understand my problem. Maybe I should have just left the money in the account until they realised their mistake but something tells me it would have been there for a very long time. Can't trust them now.0 -

If you log in to your account can you see this interest being added?
When they took the money back, did they take the interest as well? Or have you ended up keeping the interest?
Have you put money other than the £1 in there?
What's the account balance now?
Do you get monthly or annual interest?0 -
I decided to cash in on the top rated Icesave bond and opened a HiSave account. They emailed us demanding multiple certified photocopies of documents which would have been a major hassle (see extract below). So I phoned them to ask whether there was any other way I could convince them I was for real and not money laundering.
After 20 minutes attempting unsuccessfully to argue with an automatom reading a script I thanked him politely and rang off.
I decided that useless and unflexible customer service was too high a price to pay for a bit more interest.
They wanted:
