My local primary school wishes to erect a portakabin on the unadopted road just outside the school gates.
We live in a conservation area. Old stone buildings etc
We, and all the local neighbours object to these plans.
Any guidance pls on the best way to do this, phrases to use, website to visit ?
Any other action ?
TIA

Is there room for it inside the school gates, maybe on a playing field or tarmac area?Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

tend to find that local authorities / government bodies never have trouble getting planning permission - suspect it will be "temporary" and hence will go through0

In certain situations they don't actually need PP, but do it anyway so the Public can comment.
Also, depending on reason for needing a portocabin, they may well get PP for three years initially.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

You say "on" the unadopted road.
Who uses that unadopted road? Where does it give access to?0 -

What is the purpose of the portacabin and how long will it be there, surely you don't begrudge a school( for the education of our children) putting up a portacabin, ah fcuk the children lets get our priorities right we don't want to spoil the look of our picture postcard village.
Maybe you could all have awhip round so they could build a nice new classroom in natural stone.0 -
Little space left within school wall boundary, 3 years temp PP, but they have a history of ignoring this, two items still in place 12 years on, within school boundaries, after being told to remove them.
Unadopted road is a dead end, but accessed by residents.:icotbaske0 -
When I questioned "on", I read the word quite literally as meaning "on/blocking/taking up space on". But did you mean "alongside an unadopted road, on their own school land"?0

On the road, outside the school boundary, there is no room inside.
No pavement between wall and road.:icotbaske0
