Honestly, I tell no lies you just have to shop around a bit, accomodation on thomson website from £5 per room some 1/2 board I chose a bit more expensive to get 4*

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I've been investigating diligently.

From not having much of an opinion on where we should go, I've been innundated with suggestions from mum, to back again!

I've spent the time trying to get her to make up her mind.

we've narrowed it down to either Malta or the Canaries. Unfortunately, I seem to have found myself stuck - too late for any decent deals (and little availability) and too early for late deals!

I booked at the weekend through Teletext and got a fab deal going to Egypt.

£540 per person for 2 weeks all inclusive in a 5* hotel.

If you phone the company first with the deal you have seen they will give you the name of the hotel and you can look it up before you book. Have a look and see. Malta on your dates for 2 people in a 4* all inclusive from Gatwick was starting at £274. Obviously you have to pay a small booking fee and transfer fee (mine was £4 per person!). Its really easy to search teletext:
