BT Broadband, renewal deals

My contract is about to expire in june with bt, i am on option 2 paying £22.99 a month. I have been sent an email from them offering a deal of £19.99 if i stay for another 12 months, this to me doesnt seem like such a cracking deal and im reluctant to take it as i know i can get it cheaper elsewhere. I have also just moved house taking my bt vision with me, which i didnt get til jan 08. Does this affect my contract in any way and is it worth trying to haggle a better deal out of bt and whats the best price someone has got out of them? Thanks.

Bump - I would like similar information. My contract with BT expires in July.

Haggling is always the way ahead. You must remember that companies today operate in a very competitive market. The best way ahead is to search out deals from other places and quote these to BT. Don't let them fob you off with the extras like:

    1) Our customer service is the best - They are all rubbish.
    2) We offer free evening and weekend calls - You can get these free elsewhere.
    3) Our service is faster - Possibly in your area, but most likely to be matched by at least one other.

So do the research and then call BT and haggle away! Please post any results here as I'm sure everyone else would like to know how you get on.

I was on option 1 @ £17.99/month, they agreed to upgrade me to option 3 at no extra cost :)

I'm also on option 1 and the contract is due to expire in a month. I called BT up and they offered me another discount to get it down to £13.99 pm (that's a whole £1 less than I'm paying at present - wow!!!!!!!!!!!!) and after 12 months it would be frozen at £13.99. Makes me think why shoud they get my business when Sky can do the same for a fiver.

Still I asked for my MAC and will mull my options over in the next fortnight. Don't know if BT do what Sky do and pester you when they think you're about to go but here's hoping for the call. Fingers crossed.

    Humph!

I'm paying £17.99 for Option 2 and I've just been told that they will give me Option 3 for £24.99 ...

What should I do, when I said I would think about it, they didn't stop me ending the call...
