Looks like its either cars or houses that will be the main saving items then.

I'm wondering whether saving is going to be harder than paying my debt off.at the mo everything i get extra goes straight off my debt without me thinking about it and once its paid off i cant touch it. i'm thinking it might be different when its sitting in an account, i know its saving towards what i really want but it will be so easy just to go ..oh well its only a tenner i'll take it out of the savings. Was thinking about opening a notice savings account but will need my cash right away if a find a car. (loooong way ahead i know!)

My OH has started to think about getting a 'classic' car -cheaper tax and all that. I said i wanted a newer car when we can afford it and he's there sayin' 'You want a hillman imp'!!!!! A what? I want a modern, possibly peugot(sp) or something. and he wants... well I'm not sure really, you name a classic car and he suggested it!!!! lol

Cath one word for your Oh.....Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Classic cars will cost you an absolute fortune in maiintenence, what you save in tax you will pay a hundredfold when something goes wrong which it wil...every week lol. You will need two cars because they will never start when you really need them too so you need a more reliable modern car to actaully get you to work ( not blow up their radiator on a busy main road and billow steam all over both lanes.. not that that ever happened to me....hmmmm)

speaking as a former mini owner which contributed at least 3 grand to my debt!!!

MM I'm already a member of mfi3 (but I'm just trying to reduce ours coz there's no way we can pay it off in 3 years!!) I am also saving to try and have equivalent of 3 months wages as an emergency fund... I'm a bit spoilt for choice as to what to save for next!!!
