That sounds like a great plan Amy , good incentive to pay those darn debts off sooner so you can own your own home one day, hopefully house prices will come down by then as well.

    Hi everyone

Everyone is doing so well by the looks of it – yippee!!! :j :j

Amy: If you can get on the property ladder go for it. Is the shared ownership the same as part rent part buy? My friend did this as she couldn’t afford to buy on her own, and it sounds like a good thing to do. They then give you the option to buy them out if you can afford it in a few years.

I must be lucky at the moment as won £104 on the bingo in two days. I am logging online at 6.30 every morning to play before I go to work, but I only ever win anything in the morning so I’m going to keep playing every morning, well until my free money runs out! :rotfl:

Good luck with the ebay sales guys, I really must pull my finger out and list some stuff! Still not manage to list anything, even when I said a couple of weeks ago I would.

Wow well done Hayley!! Thats brilliant! Wish i could win on bingo...

Yeah thats the one, where you pay rent on the part you dont own, and pay mortgage on the % you do.

I have just found a lovely house and now i want it! Im so impatient! Deffo makes me want to be debt free ASAP. And also i need to sort out my credit file, but that will come with time i guess.

Some great deals at the moment for the Part rent part buy schemes in Kent. My friend got her flat in Kent (Tunbridge Wells) and it was such a good deal. I think most are brand new places, so even got to pick the colours etc.
Be lovely to come home to your own house.

Are you waiting until debt free? or do you want something soon?

Ideally i would love to move now. But my debt is kind of stopping that (i dont pay 1/2 as much as i "should" if i was a normal tenant - im council) so i wouldnt be able to afford a mortgage etc. at the moment. Plus my credit rating is terrible, so need to up that really before anyone would accept me.

BUT its definitely something to aim for, fingers crossed i can start looking the end of the year.

    ;)

  • Hi Everyone. Just had a look around the site for the first time and had a read through this thread. Can i join the challenge too?? I need to find about everything like quidco etc so any tips would be helpful. I have about £600 on credit card and £3000 on a hsbc loan and am always at bottom of overdraft. I used to be a lot worse than that but not spending and a pay rise have heped out but now need a new car and would like to be able to buy on on my own (without loans!) next year. So need to be debt free by the end of this year! Also to change the subject i read someone has a bc puppy!! I have a 18 week old one too!! Having him to play with and walk has cut down random spending and shopping trips without a doubt!

    HI LM :hello:

    Welcome to our lil' challenge.

no real tips except ebay!! If you can, ebay everything you own (within reason :rotfl: ) it all adds up. And also maybe try and pay off the highest APR first.

Just wanted to say welcome really.

:rotfl: Im sure thats been done in the past!! :p

    Good luck with the ebaying.

Also qudico.com is good if you buy online a lot. You join up and use their site to click through onto other websites often earning a percentage of what you spend back.

Its quite good for things like insurance as well.
