I've found this plant growing in a pot of rocket seed, and obviously it's not rocket so I wondered whether anyone might recognise it? It kinda looks familiar but I can't think what it might be.

It's fairly fast growing and has reached this size within a week of germinating, which makes me think it might be a weed but looks too attractive to be a weed :o

Looks like our lovage plant - that grows so fast that you can see a difference every day in the Spring.

    I'd go for lovage too.

It doesn't smell of anything in particular.

Interesting that some of you have suggested lovage as, having done a quick google search, it is the same family as angelica.

Now, I bought an angelica gigas last summer, which has since been transplanted in the garden, and I've a feeling it might have come in this pot when I got it. I wonder!

My lovage smells of mild celery when I crush a leaf.

This doesn't smell of celery, although it looks very similar to celery, which is what I must have been thinking of when I said it reminded me of something. Maybe it will be easier to identify in a week or two when it's grown bigger

Lovage and angelica look very alike and they both seed like crazy so it could be a baby angelica.

    Hi

It looks exactly like my angelica; I've just been down the garden weeding, thought I would check and it's identical. Mine has also grown an awful lot in the last few weeks.
