    That's good to know! Thanks

We need so much for this holiday that if we don't start now we'll never manage! It'll cost about £3000 altogether for the three of us so that's a BIG
    chunk of money!
Our rule is: if the debt isn't gone- neither are we!!!!

My plan for today is as follows:
I will have a no spend day- not even budgetted spends as we have food etc.
I will make a spreadsheet with my daily clicks on and print it out as I love having tick boxes- sad but true...
I will make dh breakfast in bed as he's trying really hard not to spend loads of money- AT LAST!!!
I willl go through Christmas pressies already bought and list any more to get.
I will put shopping on Consumer Pulse and hopefully have enough entries for another £10 voucher this week! - Put towards my Free Christmas challenge!
I have checked online banking- all fine.
I will tidy my house as it's a tip!!!! And water my greenhouse!
That's it I think. I wish I hadn't woken at bloody 5am but there you go......

Thnks sophiesmum! It's nice to have him take an interest at last...
I've just paid £290 off my credit card. I wish it would register straight away on internet banking! So my totals can be updated.
Credit card debt now stands at- £463.35! Thank God it's coming down at last.
Havinbg a good month for paying stuff off as money owed is starting to come in, in dribs and drabs!
Should get my extra pay on Thursday too so that will go straight onto my credit card!
I know you shouldn't wish your life away but I wish it was the end of May and my credit card was paid off. It's painful having to be so strict about everything...
Saying that we've got £50 in our budget for socialising this month! We can go to the cinema or out for dinner or something. That'd be nice. I'll probably fall asleep tho...Not much fun being very pregnant- I can't seem to stay awake for more than 5 hours at a time...
Speaking of which...time for a nap methinks...

    Hi Jak,

You've made a great start with this diary, I shall be watching with interest as I need something to motivate me!!!

We have a tontine at work which I suppose is similar to your thrift club. I save £25 a month that goes straight in there from my wages so I don't even miss it. I agree with what you said earlier - I know I could get a better rate of interest but it's in there and I don't need to worry about it or do anything. At Christmas I'll have £225 that I haven't even noticed I was saving. As there's only me and my oh that money pretty much pays for Christmas for us ! :)

    Hey Jak

Congrats on the over payments and good news your other half is getting on board now - you'll do it in no time at all.

    Hope you enjoy your nap.

I must go out and do a bit of gardening now (I've been out and about all day so far).

See you later chaps n chapesses

The manc, poo and Sophiesmum! I am feeling a bit better about things. But every time I make a payment I think that could be going towards a house deposit or something else if I hadn't got myself into such a mess...
I supose that's what'll keep me on the straight and narrow after I pay everything off...
I just really hope I can make overpayments until the baby comes and clear as much as possible.
I really want ot be debt free by the time baby arrives but realistically the 1st August is the very, very earliest unless we get a windfall of some kind. Mind you, you never know what's around the corner. During this winter when dh couldn't work and I couldn't find a full time job, every time I thought we were sc***d, I got a payment of some kind. It was like divine intervention! I got a tax rebate, internet charges back, and a few other bits- like my birthday money- I got nearly £300 for my 30th which is loads- I put most of it on the bills but bought some jewelry too. I decided to do half and half.
Anyway, the point of my ramble is really you never know what's going to happen so maybe i've got a shot at being debt free by the time the baby arrives...I really, really hope so...
Have a fab day everyone. I'll report back later with any progress etc.

Like you say jak you never know what is around the corner:D you are doing great with your overpayments and okay you may not be totally debt free by the time the baby arrives but you will be in a much healthier financial position than if you had just carried on adding to your debts.:T :T

Once you are debt free savings :T get addictive as you can no longer bear to think of wasting money.Doing the hard work paying off the debts really makes you see where you used to waste money in the past:D
