It helps if we have the full and coherent facts from the start. But it takes a few posts to extract the full story unfortunately.0

Locks: It is no probalem the OP changing the locks as longs as he changes them back or hands the key over when he moves out.
I suspect his sister may well want him out because the Housing Association have found out that she is subletting and they are throwing her out.
She probably has as much idea where they both stand as we do. Probably best plan is for the OP to "explain" to her that as he is a tennant she has to give him 2 months notice, and then for the OP to start looking for somewhere else pronto.
I wouldn't be looking to buy in the current market, but if you are willing to move in at zero notice you may be able to negotiate a good deal with a private landlord who is suffering a void.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
I personally feel you should move on, regardless of who's done who a favour.
Your Sister obviously wants you out, you have a bit of money behind you, so you should have no problems renting short term ( deposits etc )
This is not worth having a family row about.
Rise above it, BUT she's got to give you a bit longer to find somewhere & move out a week is unrealistic, as for changing the locks, whether you are allowed to or not, I think I would do the same if I was worried about my possesions.
