o2 Sim only retention offers?
Evening everyone, new moneysaver here!
I have had a sim only contract with O2 for 5-6 months now if I remember correctly, (£20 a month 400 anytime minutes, 1000 texts), and I have to say I am fairly happy with it. I was just wondering has anyone managed to squeeze o2 for anything more than this by threatening to leave or change to a cheaper option? Thanks
James

My GF had been on o2 Simplicity £20 tariff, originally signed up instore so not quite as good as the online tariff, she had been on it 6 months, never going over her free minutes or texts and called up to ask for PAC.
She was offered an 18 month contract, the £30 online one, i.e. 400 minutes, unlimited o2 to o2 calls and 1000 texts per month and a Nokia 6500 slider for £15 a month "as she had been such a loyal customer".
She is thinking about it, but obviously seems there are deals to be had from o2.
Hope this helps.Money Saving Fan.0 -
a) - phone up o2 - say you wanna leave.
b) see if they give you any offers
c) ask for PAC code [this is the code you need to transfer number to a different network - when used, contract ends once your number moves to the new network]. (if they give it, take it)
d) phone up a few days later - see if they have any other offers
e) if d) didn't work - try again just before PAC expires
f) if really can't squeeze anything from them - let PAC expire (PAC only ends contract if you actually use it!!) and wait for them to refresh their tariffs in a few months time - they tend to refresh every so often.

Don't know why but when I ask for a new 12 month contract they keep trying to shift me to a SIM only deal. I would think they would tie me down to reduce churn but they don't seem to be too bothered.0
