Fruit & Veg are the only items I won't buy at Lidl or Aldi. Quality in my store is poor.
  • I have to say that the quality of the fruit and veg in my local Lidl, also Preston (hi Samnmalc) is fabulous. Lasts for ages and whilst half price so cheap!
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
  • Do Lidl advertise the half price fruit & veg on their weekly flyers? If so you can always take one over to Asda and get them to price match... Asda quality fruit & veg for Lidl price!

I second Westywoodpecker's comments on the produce quality at my local Lidl. Very, very often they'll be of better quality compared to Asda's, Tesco's or even Morrison's!

Not to mention the price difference...

Yes, it's on the bottom of the flyer. Great idea. Let's know if Asda price match please?
  • Quality in Lid'ls fruit and veg seems to vary..In some stores its excellent ...unfortunately in my local branch in Redditch its very hit and miss...mind you to be honest I think ALL supermarket fruit and vegetables are pretty awful...Once you have had fresh stuff from a farmers market you realise how tastless they are
The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!

Yes, they'll match any advertised price - you just need to show the flyer at the till and they'll put it through at the matched price. As long as the flyer shows the individual prices for the the fruit/veg in question... :)

    That, is an excellent question...
  • I went on Thursday, got loads. 7.5kg of potatoes for £1.05! Apples, Nectarines, for 42p, cucumber for 29p. We'll be well in this week!
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!

  • Fruit and vegetable quality in ours has always been good apart from peaches and nectarines which seem to start going mouldy almost the day after purchase.
