Just a bit confused as I have had an HSBC current account and CC for about 10 years, when you are saying this info will appear on future credit reports do you mean the current account or just the CC? It would only be the CC wouldn't it? If not what info would the report show about the current account?

    Ta :)

If you have an overdraft facility with the current account, then this is a line of available credit open to you to spend - just like a credit card.

well, I just got my credit reports a few weeks ago. It was interesting...my credit card doesn't show up but my mortgage does and nothing about current account.

What do other people have showing up on their reports regarding hsbc?

I have banked with HSBC for at least 15 years and have a credit card and loan with them as well as a current account. When I got a report from Experian recently although my bank account wasn't on it, both my credit card and loan were, and looked like they have been on there for a few months. Don't know why mine are and other peoples aren't??
  • My HSBC current account held since the mid 80's definetly doesn't show up on either of my reports from Equifax or Experian and fingers crossed my nice new HSBC credit card won't either! I have had a loan from them in the last six years which wasn't showing up either.

Could it be that there's more than one profile set up for each customer at these credit reference agencies (unintentionally of course)?

Sorry, not quite sure what you mean by different profiles?

I've been thinking and maybe they are adding different accounts in batches and working from the most recent first? I've only had my mortgage for just over a year (which is on the report) but I've had the current account and credit card for about 10 years, so they'll probably be on in a few months.

What I mean is maybe the CRAs have two or more seperate "accounts" on their system for the same person - perhaps due to a slight difference in the way the person provides his/her name when opening an account (like one under Mr. Steve James and one under Mr. Stephen James). This way some of your financial entries get recorded on one "account" and the rest on the other "account".

It's only a thought. Anyone ever heard of such a thing happen?
