  • Hi There, just a little suggestion that could help earn a good few quid, I saw a girl on Monday when I went for a walk with my family, she had 10 yes ten dogs, all on leads and she was dog walking them for £10 an hour, that comes to £110 an hour, because their owners were not able to exercise them for one reason or another, there were all types of dogs the biggest was an alasation and there was no fighting among the dogs, I thought the amount of dogs were perhaps too many for the girl to control, and could have had another person helping out..Still a good source of income to be had probably by just advertising in your local paper..Good luck...Nick...
  • Sorry it was 11 dogs...

    Hello,

Re the dog walking idea, hmm....not so easy as it sounds. First of all you have to have an understanding/loving of dogs, afterall you wouldn't work with kids if you didn't have any experience of them or like 'em. But most importantly you have to have public liablility insurance (yes, my friend does it) and there are restrictions on the number of dogs that you can walk at any one time if you are registered as a business.

To the OP, have you thought about ringing round smallish local business's and offering them your services. One of my friends works for an Accountancy firm doing all of there typing from home and it keeps the wolf from the door.

    Hope this may help

Is it legal to walk so many dogs .. there is no way the person could be in proper control of them

I've had a Pet Sitting business and there's no way I'd ever have more than two dogs out at one time and that's only with the owner's permission.

  • Thanks for the suggestion of dog walking.

I do have a dog, all be it a king charles spaniel so he doesn't take much walking. 10 dogs seems a bit more than I could handle.

I have been looking into doing on-line surveys but many of the web sites seem to put your information through to advertising companies and I get enough "junk e-mails" as it is.

Another friend has mentioned starting an ironing service and whilst ironing isn't something I enjoy, I'm sure I could get into it if I was being paid. Does anyone know what kind of rates to charge, I live in a village in Lancashire.

Some of the ideas being suggested (e.g. most online 'jobs') can not be considered as serious means of earning money .. maybe a little bit of pocket money but little more. If you are looking for a living wage I am afraid you will probably have to do some work for it and not rely on the hope that surfing the web will bring up a viable business
