Blatant Fee Avoidance

Because people who behave like you force the fees up for everyone else. If we all evaded fees then eBay would fold and we would all loose the facility. I hate paying taxes and I think they are too high but I dont advocate evading them.
I take it you're not self employed then, most self employed people and all companies pay accounts money to keep their taxes down to a minimum and to find ways (legal of course) to avoid paying them.
As far as the fees are concerned, are you saying you have never added a little to your P&P charges to cover Ebay and Paypal fees, lots of peopel do and are therefore evading fees and surprise surprise Ebay haven't folded yet.0 -

That is not fee avoidance..........................
That is just passing you fees on to the buyer,
and not out of your profits

Actually I am self employed as I sell on eBay! I have an accountant and pay the amount of tax due on my profits. I of course work to ensure that tax is as little as possible but also that it is entirely legal and breaks no rules. Avoiding ebay fees does break rules. eBay have not folded but their fees keep increasing. Perhaps if everyone paid the correct fees then their fees would not keep increasing.
My P&P is set to cover the actual cost of Royal Mail's fees, a tiny amount for packaging and of course 17.5% VAT (Yes I pay that too and dont evade it either). So in answer to your question no I have never added a little to my P&P charges other than these costs.
I was under the impression this was a moneysaving site which helped people save money by legitimate means. Perhaps people think Martin should promote evasion of eBay fees as a way of saving money? If people dont like eBay's fees (a fee structure you agree to when registering on eBay) then dont use their website. Stick to car boots and local paper adverts instead.0 -
