Why is everyone so concerned that a huge American corperation is losing a few pounds from some english person?

    Quite right.

    SEP. Someone else's problem.

Couldn't give a toss if this person is ripping ebay off. Fair play to them.

Don't do ebay's work for them. They've ripped enough people off themselves.

Buyer beware as always. If someone wants to pay let them.

thing is they're also ripping of the buyer. should you buy the item and then there is a problem, you'll only be refunded the purchase price £5
  • I'm not bothered about her ripping off Ebay and more fool people who would pay over the odds for what is admittedly a lovely bag and my new baby!! What concerns me is I like selling my bits and bobs on Ebay and I'm honest and play by the rules as do the majority on Ebay so I want rid of people who don't play fair.

What I don't understand is the need for people to post to say

"Oh look I've reported them as well"

Look at it a slightly different way. As an ebay seller it is in my interests for buyers to see ebay as a legitimate selling platform with fair and honest sellers. If a buyer comes across someone who breaks the rules, and then they have problems it is not just that individual seller that suffers, it is all of us that use ebay. Each buyer that avoids using ebay in the future having come across a blatantly fee avoiding seller is one less potential buyer for the rest of us.

Therefore we police our site just as we would police a parade of shops or market venue where we had a stall. Reputation is everything.

We need a level playing field. How can genuine, honest sellers compete against those that are able to obtain reduced fees through fee evasion.

This will no doubt prompt the reponse 'why dont you fee evade too as ebay charge too much' etc etc but if we all did this then eBay fees would have to rise and rise to achieve the same income levels and the whole site would lose any reputation it had left.

If people want to avail themselves of eBay they should accept the fee structure and rules in place for pricing items/postage price etc. If they dont agree with the fees then they should go elsewhere, dont simply break the rules.

I dont like being taxed and think taxes are too high but that doesnt mean I should condone those that evade paying their taxes.
