    ;)
A few things have changed sinace we initially started our thread. In May our balance was about £16,000. We were having a coffee one day and the wife asked me how we were going to fund the campervan once the mortgage was finished. I explained that i would have to get another mortgage for about £30,000 say it was for home improvements!!!!.
She said lets do it now as the rates are low and we dont know as or when they will go up. So in June i remortgaged for £36,000 for home improvements. We bought the van privately on got it converted in august.
We now have a mortgage of todays date of £47,800. We have a fixed rate{which is what i wanted} 5.19%. We pay £650 a month. As from January 2010 i will over payments of £150. So hopefully by about 2016 ish we should be MF.
Our daughters are growing up fast they are 14{going on 22} and 16{going on 24} ha..ha..ha..
Of course i want to be MF but finances are tight all over, i could overpay more but its down to "balance" again
Take care all from a sunny/wet/windy/dry Plymouth

are you still with YBS ?
I have a fixed offset for 5 years with them at 4.74%
Want a t5 bilbo/calfornia or devon monte carlo family 4 when the MF is sorted
will have cleared 50% of my mortgage by xmas!
Sons off to uni in 2 years IF they get through college so aim to be MF ( with offset ) in that time.
Dont forget to use quidco when shopping online
    GOOD LUCK
  • well done on realising your dream and getting your van, you only live once so i hope it gives you plenty of enjoyment!!

Thanks for the comment, Yes still with the YBS
If you are serious about the t5 get a van then get it converted, i used a converter in Bideford, Devon called south west camper conversions, believe me his workmanship in far superior to the off the shelf vw california.:rotfl:

thanks for your kind words, it doesnt feel such a "negative " feeling when paying that payment each month when we are getting so much enjoyment.
If it wasnt for this forum and all the encouragement from everybody we would have not paid off so much and be in this position. Still focused now to be MF.;)
