    Why weren't you impressed?
Imprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.

obviously look at the comparison sites but I think ISA might be Barclays (6.5%) and maybe the internet only accounts from (Kaupthing edge and ICICI)

Moneysupermarket is one of the main comparison sites.
Others - Moneyfacts, FSA, etc - are available, but they can only include the products that are out there.

Many products look "samey" (the same? similar?) because they are all trying to get you to do the same thing - to buy them. Their sellers will offer the rates they think are necessary to attract sufficient custom for their needs, on conditions that they think they can get away with.

You might want to read other threads regarding problems with opening the Barclays Tax Haven ISA.

If you have the full amount (£3600) and don't need access to it for the next twelve months then the Bradford & Bingley eISA account FIXED at 6.25% is very competitive. With BOE rates dropping Fixed rates are the most attractive proposition rather than Variable but it depends on your saving criteria/requirements.

Barclays is down to 6.25 (or 6.24, or 6.26) % now, making it less attractive over the Icesave ISA at 6.1% - depending on how much money you have.

A decent fixed rate would be very attractive if you know you won't need the cash in the year.
