Advice on Orange bandits!?..

Hello,
I have recently renewed my Orange monthly contract mobile phone. I was previously on a Dolphin 25 18 month contract and when this expired, I duly haggled with Orange to get the best possible new deal. The 'customer retention' department sold me a new Dolphin 25 contract and I was told it would cost me the same £25 p/month but for this I would now receive 600 any network minutes and unlimited texts as well as keeping and adding to magic numbers.
Great, or so I thought until I received my first bill this month of £50!? On speaking to Orange, they informed me that I WAS told I would be entitled to 100 minutes and unlimited texts! Why would I take on a contract with LESS minutes p/month!? This is a blatant lie by them and I'm not sure what I can now do? I haven't signed a contract so is it worth the paper it's written on?

I'm quite annoyed with them and whatever the outcome, I will never give my money to Orange again. Does anyone have any sugggestions or advice on this matter, please?

Ben.

They will say that it is as good as a contract by you saying yes over the phone. I would keep pushing this I am not sure who you would talk to as CS are usually pretty rubbish in these situations. Keep pushing this and ask them to provide the recording of the call so they can prove that you were told, even if you have to write in for this. I had a similar problem with another operator and kept pushing until it was resolved to my satisfaction.

If you have a problem fix it, if you can't fix it don't worry because it will happen anyway! :D

Request to speak to customer disconnections - they offered it. They have access to screens others do not.

Sounds like you were offered Dolphin 35 (600mins, unlimited text) with a line rental discount. making it £25 a month.

Enquire that this is the case. The discount may only be for an 18mth period - so ask for that to be confirmed also (at end of 18mths, usually goes to standard price and you would need to renegociate a similar deal

In respect of your bill. note that your tariff would change in line with your billing date... so if your bill date is the 10th of the month and you phoned up for the deal on the 20th... then you'd be on your old tariff for approx 20more days until your bill date came.

Thus your new tariff would start on your bill date. So if you used your phone thinking you were on the new tariff, you would have been charged if you went over your mins.

best to call CS and get them to confirm though.
