You sound like you are doing far better than me, I am inspired to come up with a similar challenge for myself, but need to keep reading to stay motivated lol. :) Plus I want to keep everything I make ... stupid I know...

  • Hi ZoeGirl,

You can do it - why don't we do it together? I always want to keep everything too - but this challenge is giving me the incentive to sell them!!

    Well here's todays update:-

I've got another £4 for the total today from another Ebay topper sale. Ebay seems to be good for me at the moment - lets hope it stays that way!!!

My auntie is coming to see me tomorrow and she always says she loves my handmade items so maybe I might be able to sell a bit to her - I always find it hard charging family & friends though!!

Won't get any crafting done today me thinks as desperatly cleaning & tidying up ready for family visit tomorrow and then have to tale little lass to a party this afternoon!

Well off I go to hoover - lucky me!!!!!

Along the same lines as schools. What about contacting your local girl guide group. You could help tham run a fundraising evening and/or pass on your skills

Hi there, I do our local NCT newsletter and the advertising in those is very cheap in general, as it's all done by volunteers. You could try and see if there's one in your local area? We had someone advertise in ours for birth announcements, naming ceremony invitations etc, and she said it was very successful: you might get bigger orders that way (if that's what you're after: you might only want to do one-offs?).

I've found it hard to find nice cards to take to naming ceremonies, for instance, or to congratulate people on pregnancies, etc, so that's a possible market there for you: to sell to locally or online. And a bit more cheerful than Sympathy cards. :o)

Sure, why not, will have to have a look in the stocks I have and make a list of things I could make that might sell, :)

Will post what I have and my ideas lol, probably tomorrow :) since I have cleaning to clear through today, before I pull all that out lol :rotfl:

How have you been going lately?? Anymore luck? Hope you are well :j

  • Hi all,

Sorry not posted for some time but been a busy bunny! Thanks for all your messages of support & advice.

Well update so far - still not spent anything else which is nothing short of a miracle for me - I'm so proud of myself.

Have been making more topper sets for Ebay though and also sold quite a bit since last post.

    Sold:-

Ebay - £34.68 after fees etc
Local Car Boot - £16 after fees (only cost £3 for pitch)
    Website Shop - £4.99

So thats makes a total of £55.67 to be added to the grand total since my last post - yipeeeeeee!!!!

Well I really should be contacting shops etc to see if they will sell my items but am going off on holiday in a few days so might just do a bit more crafting in the evenings leading up to it as really already in holiday mood.

Am going to list loads more things on Ebay on Thursday though as its a cheap listing day.

    Well TTFN
