Where to get 'cheapest' petrol

Well thanks to all of you who have completely hijacked this thread into a useless one.
I would rather find out a way to lower my petrol bill than listen to you lot take offence at nothing and !!!!! about each other.

I'm surprised at the amount of people willing to travel about 30 miles just to save 4p a litre, not realising that the saving is being swallowed up in the actual journey to fill up in the first place.
The only real way of saving money on fuel is to
i) Buy a smaller engined car
ii) Buy a car which runs on diesel (more mpg) or LPG (Cheaper)
iii) move to a country where fuel is cheaper (Take your pick about 8 out fo 10 fit this criteria so plenty of choice)
I think that the petrol price websites have dried up purely because of the amount of time that is needed to update them, prices here have been changing on a daily or even hourly basis - can you imagine the work required to update every town and villages average prices on a website - would you be willing to put in the time and effort?.
Secondly the only time that these websites get any real interest is during the petrol protests!, I guess the webmasters just got fed up with being 'used' during these times and getting little interest and support at others!.

Just had a call from two mates - one in Scunthorpe and one in Dudley, West Midlands. Many garages have shut down because they have run out of fuel due to panic buying. My mate in Dudley had to drive 7 miles before he found an open garage.
People are causing the problem by stockpiling. After Wed I can't get to work.

It's crazy.
...and the panic buying will just push the price up even higher, these oil companies aren't daft :mad:0 -
Personally I'm stuffed on Friday...also have a long drive due this weekend. Last night on the way home I noticed a sign outside a petrol station "no diesel" it read. However, this morning it appeared to be open as usual. Remember, that at the moment there are no protests and the tankers are still leaving the refineries.
At least thats what I'm telling myself...along with keeping everything crossed that these protests will be a damp squib like last time *starts praying*Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

But there are going to be NO blockades - there will be a go slow on the M4 and protests for three days - this does not in any way affect the petrol getting to the pumps? three garages round here are now empty and there were queues outside Sainsburys before 7am!
There are people filling jerry cans and topping up with £6 of petrol!
WHY?????? The petrol is always going to reach the stations!

Not necessarily. The tanker drivers could go out on strick in sympathy with the protests. The refineries could decide not to send out tankers because a) they want to wind up the government or b) they think that its better to err on the side of caution and wait until the protests are over. And there are lots of other reasons besides.
Anyway, the refineries will be happy if this extra demand pushes fuel prices up even further as its more cash in their pockets. Basic law of supply and demand. More demand & the same supply = higher prices.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
