If the default was 2004/5, then the default will drop off their record in 2010/11.
it might be worth their getting a copy of their credit record.
Also, there is nothing more the DCa can do to affect this, as long as you fight if they try for a CCJ. Note that should not be possible, as the full defence is the lack of CCJ. Only sometime people do not bother to contest and wonder why they get the CCJ.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks RAS - I have a copy of the credit check. Some have been paid now and don't know when to get them to request another one showing things as being settled.0

Hi, appologies if i have posted in the wrong area, i am new to all this. I have just received a letter from aktiv-kapital asking if they have the correct address for a person they are trying to contact regarding a personal matter, they want me to contact their office if i am the named person (which i am) or accept their appologies if i am not. Should i ring them or should i ignore the letter, i moved to this address 5 and a half yrs ago and this is the first contact they have made.
Really do need some advice on this. Thank you0 -
Definately ignore them. We advise never contacting DCas by phone as they lie and bully you.
The next thing they send should tell you what debt they are trying to chase.
Given what you have already written the chances are that this debt is statute barred already, but you do not want to be bullied into making a payment if it is a week shy of the 6 year limit. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Remarkably low-key/low-pressure introduction by Aktiv's standards.
From my own experience and from reading those of others I haven't encountered such an unlikely approach before.
Still I am sure there is more than enough guidance on here on how to respond to Aktiv at all levels.Debts Jan 2007 £16K: Debts Jan 2008 £10K: Debts Jan 2009 £0K  retired to become a full time carer for my partner0 -

That's a good idea i hadn't thought of doing that, i don't even know what debt i have defaulted on. Had a lot of credit six yrs ago but fell ill and ended up on sickness benefit, hence the debts. Have paid some debts off and paying others off through wescott so assumed i was paying everyone.
Thanks to all for advice.0 -
