  • Anyone else tried iObit Security 360 as an add on to your normal AV?

    http://www.iobit.com/security360.html?Str=download

I have been trying it for a couple of months and it has found a few things other AVs have over looked plus it doesn't appear to slow my system down.

Anyone else had any other experiences with it?

Also, does anyone know a free antivirus software that supports Windows Me?
Avast used to work with ME.
    Still does apparently.

    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Looking for free Antivirus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Spyware software, Firewall, etc. ?

Why not sign up as a Beta Tester for one or other of the main providers ?

I signed up with McAfee about three years ago, run the very latest software (Total Protection Suite 4.0) and don't pay a penny for it.

/edit: Drat ! as a newbie I can't simply post a link to Beta dot McAfee dot com !
I'll have to hope you can find it another way !
    Google perhaps ?

All you need to do is sign up, giving a valid email address and a password.
    Gus.

  • an excellent article on antivirus software- not noticed it before, but should have!

I have a router and use spybot on my PC. Noting the comments in the article am I better off removing spybot and replacing it with AVG - or do i even try and run both?

Spybot is not an AV product, AVG is so are AVAST, Microsoft Security Essentials. There lots of recommendation on this site for Free AV products try a few (of course one at a time and always uninstall them using any specific uninstall tools). Use Sypot as well but turn off the Tea-Timer it causes performance problems alongside AV.

With you not using an actual antivirus product then id recommend malwarebytes to check your computer over ~

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log IN A NEW THREAD (If it finds anything) AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
Once clean then you can install a proper av (Avast, Avira, AVG or security essentials)
