rome ciampino - city centre transfer

All

The tubbos (Mrs,myself and two small kiddies ages 3 and 2) are going to the eternal city next month.
Just looking at the options for getting from Rome Ciampino to the city centre. Current options seem to be:

1. Bus to subway (1 Euro each) then subway to terminii station (1 Euro each). Total return cost = 16 Euros

2. Terravision bus (offered by Ryanair/easyjet) direct to city centre - total return cost 42 Euros.

3. Private car/taxi using shuttledirect.com - total return cost about 98 Euros.

Bearing in mind we have two little kids, the second option seems the most convenient and cost effective. For the sake of 13 Euros or less than a tenner each way it seems a lot less hassle then getting on off bus/subway with the kids + suitcase and ratty wife (she doesn't like travelling but is fine once we get there!).

Have I missed anything. Are there other options I don't know about?
By the way, our hotel is near the top end of Via Nazionale (by Republica) which seems to be walking distance from the Terminii station - or am I mistaken about the distance? I presume the bus will drop us by the hotel anyway?

All advice gratefully received.

The Terravision bus is just so easy - go for it especially with the family, cases and all.

It drops you right by the Termini Railway Station.

Using the bus and train to the Termini is always relatively easy although lugging cases, off and on the bus/train is always a pain but I have always found the return from Termini difficult in that finding the right train on the right platform always seems to cause me a problem and as there is always a queue at the information booth I always end up hot and flustered and then make my way to the Terravision stop.

I hope you love Rome as much as I do.

And talking of kiddies, a colleague of mine whilst in Rome had her wallet nicked by a kid who looked about seven years old - he kind of bumped into her and got it out of her bag. It wasn't until she went to pay for something that she discovered her loss and realised why the kid had bumped into her in the manner he had.

Oh yeah, I got the tube & bus to Ciampino, but there was only one of me with a small bag. Don't think I would attempt it with an entourage of your magnitude.

We used the Ryanair bus and it was dead easy, comfortable and convenient. With two small children in tow, I think thats all you need to know !

Yes, you have to be very careful in Italy.
At the train station in Rome I sensed there was someone watching me. Whilst looking at a timetable, the person struck up a conversation and asked if I would like to go to his place. I declined his kind offer.
Next, went to Napoli. same thing. This time someone else was definitely following me around. I stopped a couple of times to make sure. After a while, I turned around and confronted him. He offered me a bottle of water. I declined politely. He then proceeded to tell me how beautiful I was.
The may have been acceptable if I wasn't a MAN. Later on, I was followed around the block by another van driving Italian. This time I got mad.

Be careful! There are homosexuals in Italy. :)
